Description
Leadership position in the Finance Department and plays a critical role in helping set the Company’s accounting policies. The Sr. Director for External Reporting and Financial Compliance is responsible for external financial reporting, regulatory reporting and compliance, administers all stock compensation plans, and monitors all equity transactions.
Oversees accounting for subsidiary operations. Responsible for technical accounting research. Ensures the accuracy of financial accounting, the adequacy of financial disclosure and the adequacy of internal accounting controls for assigned areas of responsibility.
• Direct the preparation of financial reports to government agencies (Securities and Exchange Commission, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency).
• Ensure that department staff is adequately trained in GAAP accounting and consistently observes best practices in maintaining a strong system of internal control. Maintain focus on the practices, policies and procedures of the department to ensure there are no deviations from goals established by senior management.
• Establish and issue the plans, policies and procedures governing the performance of assigned department responsibilities. Ensure the execution of department functions at the lowest cost consistent with effective performance.
REQUIREMENTS:
• A thorough technical and operational knowledge of GAAP and systems of internal financial control is essential.
• SEC Reporting experience is essential.
• Ability to research complex accounting issues and translate them into practical application is essential.
• A Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA required; MBA desirable.
• Experience with Federal Bank Regulations (OCC) is highly desirable.
